My name is Silvia Trevino, I am the President of Kindness Empowers You (KEY), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. I have been a Police Officer for 37 years, retiring from the City of Houston Police Department (HPD) after 21 years of honorable service. In 2016, I ran for public office, and I was elected as the First Latina Constable in Harris County, the 3rd largest county in the United States. I am a second-generation native Houstonian and am honored to represent the community and precinct where I was born and raised; Precinct 6.
Being a public servant for 37 years has inspired me to launch Kindness Empowers You (KEY), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Kindness Empowers You has been my vision for years, but recently manifested in August, 2021. Kindness Empowers You (KEY) was created for the purpose of spreading Kindness and Good Will toward others, particularly our youth and our seniors, thus creating a healthy and positive environment, all the while building a Trust and Bond between law enforcement and our communities. Acts of kindness can inspire everyone with the opportunity to Pay It Forward in so many ways.
Kindness Empowers You (KEY) provides good will toward others by embarking on the purpose of empowering communities to pay it forward.
Every contribution we receive helps support our local programs, events, and community outreach.
